On February 10, 2025, CITIC Group went to Kazakhstan with the first delegation of entrepreneurs, organized by CCPIT, for economic and trade exchanges.
The delegation consists of more than 30 Chinese enterprises from the fields of finance, energy, infrastructure, intelligent equipment, etc. Ren Hongbin, President of CCPIT, led the Chinese entrepreneurs to conduct exchanges with prominent figures from political and business communities in Kazakhstan, and to discuss the potential of bilateral cooperation in key areas such as oil and gas trading, clean energy, and e-commerce.
On February 11, China-Kazakhstan Entrepreneurs Economic and Trade Fair took place in Astana. Wang Guoquan, representative of the Chinese Chairman of the China-Kazakhstan Entrepreneurs Committee and Deputy General Manager of CITIC Group, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. The event attracted over 200 people from the Chinese and Kazakh business communities.
Mr. Wang Guoquan said that CITIC Group has been deeply cultivating the Kazakhstan market for nearly 20 years, and has always cherished the profound friendship with Kazakhstan. As the chairman of the China-Kazakhstan Entrepreneurship Committee, CITIC Group will continue to act as a “bridge” to promote Sino-Kazakh cooperation in agriculture, new energy, artificial intelligence, green economy and other areas, and continue to build a new engine of practical cooperation. CITIC will also continue to focus on the construction of major projects, the development of new business forms in foreign trade, cross-border payment facilitation and other key areas, and deepen comprehensive financial cooperation. It will continue to rely on multi-level foreign cooperation mechanisms, innovate and launch more high-capacity exchange projects, promote complementarity of strengths, deepen the momentum of cooperation, and continue to push forward the practical cooperation to bear new fruits.
At the meeting, representatives of Chinese and Kazakh enterprises signed eight cooperation agreements. China CITIC Bank's subsidiary, Altyn Bank, and YTO International Express and Supply Chain Technology Limited signed an agreement on comprehensive strategic cooperation, and CITIC Resources and PetroChina International Co., Ltd (PCI) signed a strategic agreement on deep integration of upstream business and oil and gas trading business in Kazakhstan.
China-Kazakhstan Entrepreneurs Committee is a dialog and cooperation mechanism between enterprises of the two countries established in 2013 by the Samuruk-Kazena National Wealth Fund and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) with the support of the governments of China and Kazakhstan. As the chairman of the Chinese side, CITIC Group actively participates in the work of the committee to promote practical cooperation between Chinese and Kazakh enterprises in the fields of energy, infrastructure, finance and other areas, and to inject new momentum into the development of economic and trade relations between the two countries.
Wang Guoquan also met with Zakubov, Chairman of the Samuruk-Kazena Fund, and the two sides exchanged views on further deepening practical cooperation and organizing the eighth meeting of the China-Kazakhstan Entrepreneurship Committee at an opportune time.
Wang Guoquan said that the two sides would make every effort to organize the 8th meeting of Sino-Kazakh Businessmen Committee, make the regular exchange mechanism of the committee, share the resources of the “circle of friends” for international cooperation, build bridges for cooperation with the local governments, and actively explore the opportunities for cooperation in the fields of digital and intellectual transformation, bio-breeding, green environmental protection, high-end manufacturing and the third-party market.
