In the latest ranking of the “Top 225 International Contractors” unveiled by Engineering News-Record (ENR), CITIC Construction ranks 32nd, up by 27 places over last year. It marks the fourth consecutive year that the company has registered better performance than the previous year since its debut in 2006.
ENR is an authoritative magazine on engineering sponsored by the American construction and information company McGraw-Hill. The ranking is based on the contracting revenue of the previous year from projects outside the company’s home country. CITIC Construction’s overseas contracting revenue in 2009 stood at $2.94 billion.
It is the 6th among the 54 Chinese companies on the list. All the top five are extra-large companies under the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, namely, China Communications Construction Group (13th on the list), China State Construction Engineering Corporation (22nd), China Railway Construction Corporation (25th), China National Machinery Industry Corporation (26th) and China Metallurgical Group (31st).
