Recently，Covid-19 has become rampant in the world, hitting Africa hard with a sharp increase of affected cases. As an active participant in China’s endeavor to conduct foreign aid, CITIC Group implemented the decisions of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council and showedthe commitment to global corporate social responsibility and a good corporate image. At the request of the Chinese Embassy in Morocco, CITIC Group offered help in no time by contacting the MFA, MOFCOM, GAC and Moroccan Embassy in China and coordinating the procurement and scheduling with leading producers of medical materials.The approval procedures,qualification examination,procurement, commodity inspection, transportation, customs clearance and other working procedures were finished within only three days.

In the early morning of April 10th, CITIC’sdonation of 20,000 pieces of virus nucleic acid detection kit and supporting detection instruments arrived at Beijing Capital International Airport from Changsha, Hunan province. The Group and Moroccan Embassy arranged the handover at BGS international freight station at noon. Mr. MourdLayachi, Moroccan Minister-Counselor to China who attended the handover, expressed sincere gratitude to CITIC Group.The aid was flied to Morocco by charter flight the very night. According to the Moroccan Embassy, virus nucleic acid detection kits and supporting detection instruments were much needed in the country and CITIC’s aid was the largest single donation among those from Chinese enterprises. The Embassy believed that with the full support of Chinese government and CITIC Group, the two countries would be able to unite as one, help each other and overcome the coronavirus as soon as possible.
